Ramayana Ballet Prambanan

Ramayana ballet started with the competition conducted in order to find the right man to marry Dewi Shinta. Rama Wijaya as the Prince of Ayodya at last wins it. After winning the competition Rama and Shinta accompanied by Leksmana have their wander in Dadaka Forest.

In Dadaka Forest, Shinta is kidnapped by Rahwana and taken to Alengka Kingdom. Shocked by the bad news, Rama eagerly insists to get her back. He asks the monkey troops led by Hanoman to build a bridge to rescue Shinta from Alengka. The great battle between monkey troops and the giants of Alengka occurs afterwards.

The story ends with the death of Rahwana by Rama’s magic arrow. Then, Rama meets Shinta again. Yet Rama refuses Shinta since he considers that Shinta is not pure anymore. In order to prove her purity and loyalty to her husband, Shinta then burns herself. Shinta is safe from the burning fire and that is a proof for her husband that Shinta is still sacred. Finally Rama comes to her and they reunited.

Sekedar info buat temen-temen yang berminat mo nonton Ramayana Ballet Prambanan, Pertunjukan ini ada setiap hari Selasa, Kamis, dan Sabtu mulai pukul 19.30 – 21.30 WIB. Jadwal pertunjukan bisa berubah-ubah mengingat pertunjukan Ramayana Ballet  ada yang full story dan ada yang episodic. Khusus untuk untuk ‘episodic’ hanya ada pada saat open air theatre (outdoor) yang terdiri dari 4 episode dalam 4 hari berturut-turut. Jadwal Ramayana Ballet Prambanan untuk tahun 2012 pada bulan Januari, Februari, Maret, April, November, dan Desember adalah bulan-bulan untuk Trimurti Theatre yang artinya pertunjukan akan berlangsung indoor.
